A 17-year-old is now dead following an accident that occurred along the Number 79 Public Road on February 6, last, some time around 19:50 hrs.
Adil Ali Khan, of Lot 167 Number 77 Village, Upper Corentyne was riding a motorcycle and proceeding south along the eastern side when a sheep ran across his path. After colliding with the animal, Khan lost control of his motorcycle and landed on the road.
He sustained serious head injuries which rendered him unconscious.
He was transported to the Skeldon Hospital and later transferred to New Amsterdam Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he remained unconscious.
The teen succumbed to his injuries Monday night .
According to information gathered he only returned from overseas on December 31. He was a former student of Line Path Secondary School.
