Shannon Crawford was elected President of the Guyana Cricket Umpires Council (GCUC) when the body held its Bi-annual General Meeting and elections on Sunday at Union Hall, Woolford Avenue.
Arleigh Rutherford will serve as the Vice President, while Nolan Hawke was elected as the Secretary. The Treasurer is Eddie Nicholls, while Javed Persaud is the Assistant Secretary Treasurer and Matthew Kissoon the Public Relations Officer.
The committee members are Joseph Jeffrey, Zabier Zakier, Moses Ramphal and M. Yosef Yisrael.
In the absence of Crawford, who is performing duties in the Regional Super50 tournament is Barbados; Rutherford expressed gratitude to the members for their confidence and urged his executive to work collectively for the growth of umpiring.
He said that the general membership should hold the executive accountable, adding that he is looking forward to the first statutory meeting which will be held on March 5.
The Selection, Disciplinary, Fundraising and Training and Executive committees will be named at the said meeting.
