Dear Editor,
Dr. Martin Boodhoo was an outstanding unofficial ambassador of Guyana and Guyanese attributes of multiculturalism and inclusivity, wherever he worked, in the UK, with the UN and ILO in Africa, Malaysia and the Caribbean.
From humble beginnings, when he could not afford to attend high school, by dint of hard work he strove to achieve. The first UG graduate to obtain a PhD, he became at the peak of his career UG’s Pro Vice Chancellor and UN Consultant.
He is featured in the book ‘Guyanese Achievers UK’ containing short bios of Guyanese achievers, including Sir ShridathRamphal, Baroness Amos, Lord Waheed Ali, and cricketing legend Clive Lloyd, among many others.
With kind regards
