Dear Sir,
Selection to the West Indies Team should be based on performance and performance alone, unless a player has a dismal discipline record. This short letter is to express the dismay of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, MS on the non-selection of Anthony Bramble and Veerasammy Permaul on any West Indies Team for upcoming tours.
Bramble and Permaul have been simply outstanding for Guyana and it is a huge shame that they cannot be rewarded for their hard work. We fully support Sean Devers’ article on Friday 26th January, 2018, which asked the question “What more must Bramble do”? Despite not being members of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, as Berbicians we are very proud of them. For too long, our cricketers have been treated shabby by the West Indies Selectors and the time has come for Berbicians to say enough is enough.
Bramble and Permaul deserve to be on the West Indies ‘A’ Team in front of numerous players who are below their high standard. To both of these players, we would like to encourage them to stay the course, to continue performing, believe in the God they serve and one day they would be rewarded. Every voice in the ancient county should be raised in disgust and it is my hope that this letter would serve as an inspiration for others to speak up.
Yours in Sports,
Hilbert Foster,
RHTYSC Secretary/CEO.
