Cyclists will commence their quest to stack up points with a view of getting selected for the various national teams to compete overseas when the Guyana Cycling Federation pedals off its 2018 season today.
Like they did for the first time last year when the Horace Burrowes led body introduced a series of Points Races, the body will continue in that same vein this year and have pledged to run off a similar race every last Sunday of each month.
Today’s race will be a 65-mile affair pedaling off from Homestretch Avenue and proceeding to Long Creek on the Linden Soesdyke Highway before returning to the place of origin for the finish.
Jamal John was last year’s senior winner. Race time today is 08:30hrs.
