President of the Guyana Boxing Association Steve Ninvalle arrived in Dubai yesterday to attend the AIBA Extraordinary
Congress set for later this week.
The Congress will see affiliates voting on a number of amendments to the AIBA constitution and a report on the proposal on the Year of the Caribbean. The Caribbean has been pushing for more AIBA help to forward thrust its development in the sport with heartening responses. Ninvalle, who is the first Caribbean official from Guyana to sit on the decision making forum of the World Governing Amateur Boxing Body, is hopeful of making an impact and see the region benefit from funding and training of officials and boxers in the future.
