In a release from the Management of Rose Hall Town basketball team, who recently received a donation from the Rose Hall Youth and Sport Club, the club has informed that the donation was solicited by a player and not by their executive.
Club President Vibert Garrett noted that the donation “was given to an individual player and the executive members of the club was not aware. The club never sent a letter asking for donation from the Youth and Sport Club. We are asking the Youth and Sport Club that no individual player should be given donations from the club unless the Executive Member is aware of such. The player that uplifted the donation from the club is known as Perry Cort.”
“Perry Cort is just a normal player and he has no authority to obtain funds from any organization for the basketball club,” Garrett further informed.
He stated in the article carried in relation to the donation, mention was made of lighting at the basketball court.
Garrett informed that the Regional Democratic Council was approached in this regard and systems are being put in place to ensure same.
“The management has suggested to Mr. Hilbert Foster that he should ask Mr. Perry Cort to refund the money he collected in care of the basketball club,” the basketball club president informed.
