Members of the Organising Committee of the Bartica Easter Regatta, this past week met with Minister of Stare, Honourable Joseph Harmon who on behalf of the Government of Guyana pledged full commitment to the planned activities for the annual event whilst expressing optimism that it will be a resounding success.
Further, the Mayor and Town Council of Bartica on Thursday last handed over a cheque for One Million Dollars among a number of other items to the committee as part of its support for Regatta 2018.
Notable among these donations were a number of printed tee shirts to be worn by the Event’s Diva’s and Volunteer Squads. The Diva Squad of Regatta 2018 will be the official cheerleaders, while the Volunteer Squad will render assistance in various forms at every event.

In addition, planning for Regatta activities continues to take shape with training of the Pageant contestants getting off to a bright start with Trainer Sonjie Marslowe; training of Diva Girls led by Jade Huggins; negotiations with racers from Bartica, Pomeroon and Miami, USA and the commitment of the sponsors for various events.
The BDBA has chosen to draw from the vast experience and organisational abilities of Mr. Holbert Knights, former Regional Chairman, Region # 7 by appointing him Head of Committee for Regatta 2018.
