A mixed 12-member jury was empanelled before Justice Navindra Singh on Thursday to oversee the murder trial of Radesh Guyadeen.
Guyadeen is before the Court for a murder which occurred back in 2003.
According to the allegation on May 4, 2003, Guyadeen known as “Bruks man” murdered Nandram Manouar, a farmer nicknamed “Nano,” of Lancaster Village, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara.
The incident allegedly happened at a wedding house in the said village. According to reports, the accused stabbed Manouar in the chest.
The man was accused of puncturing Guyadeen’s bicycle wheel shortly after he left the wedding house. He was heard a short while later screaming that he had been stabbed.
A group of persons reportedly rushed to Manouar’s rescue. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, (GPHC) where he died while receiving treatment. Guyadeen fled the scene and was never seen again.
