Nothing like local humour
Dear Editor,
For wit and humour, very few nations could compete with the average Guyanese. They always remind me of “Gemima”, the girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead, in the poem we learnt at primary school. “When she was good, she was very, very good. When she was bad, she was horrid”. The same could be said of many of my countrymen/women.
The punch line from the tale of the “small 98-year old lady having no enemies in the world” had me in fits of laughter for several minutes. She had outlived all the itches! Sound reason, great record.
