Surely, each PPP supporter must have a functioning mind

Historians have dismissed with anger the claims of some folks who lived through Nazi Germany that they didn’t know the Jews were disappearing. The lie in that response is so blatant. You must have seen that your professor, music teacher, wine-seller, radio announcer suddenly were not to be seen. You had to inquire, however discreetly, what became of them.
A woman who served you in the bank for five years is gone and so are her husband and children and you don’t know what happened to them? But even if you think they migrated what happened to the sudden invisibility of all the other Jews that you knew like your own friends at school and university?
The German people knew that their Jewish neighbours were being taken away but they were either afraid, didn’t care or were tacitly supportive of what their government was doing to the Jews.
Here in Guyana, I have seen PPP supporters far more irrational in their political support than any “redneck” from the American South who holds rallies for Trump. In time to come we will no doubt see PNC supporters behaving in the same way. But let’s look at PPP supporters. I will exclude the rule of Cheddi Jagan and Janet Jagan and look at the PPP kings and queens under Bharrat Jagdeo and Donald Ramotar.
You ask yourself what more can you do to show these people that Jagdeo and Ramotar ran corrupt systems and did corrupt and undemocratic things.
This column here was done as a response to a few words directed to me by Juan Edghill, the PPP parliamentarian who behaved disgracefully in Parliament last week. I will comment on those words of Edghill, show with the support of evidence that this man is a liar and hope that with the proof supplied here, at least one PPP supporter would have the courage to behave like a human rather than a bestial animal and say, yes, this man lacks integrity. Here we go.
In a letter of condemnation of me in the Wednesday, December 20 edition of this paper, Edghill wrote; “Mr. Kissoon’s attempt of driving me into silence has been unsuccessful, he should seek another target.”
My intention over the years was to denounce the politics of Edghill; that I will do and continue to do. I have picketed him. I have written about him. Over those years, I have not written one line to any newspaper advocating the non-publication of Edghill’s thoughts. I have not complained to any statutory body against him. I have not reported him to the police. I have not litigated against him in any level of the judicial system.
For emphasis, I will repeat the words of Edghill so that it can soak into the mind of the human being who has a right to support the PPP because that it is their fundamental right but as a human being has a mind and should use that mind to understand the people in the country they live among. Here again are Edghill words; “Mr. Kissoon’s attempt of driving me into silence has been unsuccessful, he should seek another target.”
It was Mr. Edghill who tried to silence me. Do PPP supporters need the proof? Here it is. Mr. Edghill when he was part of the PPP Government filed a writ of contempt against me for writing about the Ethnic Relations Commission that he headed at that time. Here is the interesting part about this writ that those who support people like Edghill need to know so they can know who and what their leaders are.
The writ was filed under a law that once the judge had found me guilty, prison was mandatory; there could not have been a fine or probation.
Edghill not only tried to silence me but to jail me. Let Edghill reply and offer his supporters (if he has any) proof that I ever tried to take away his freedom by suing him or reporting him to the police.
These are the type of people that want to get back in power and administer this country again. They will engage in the same semi-fascist domination as they did under Jagdeo and Ramotar.
Of course, Edghill may reply to this and not a word will be directed to his court action. He didn’t even mention it in his letter of Wednesday. How can he? It would have exposed him. Let me end by asking PPP supporters this; with more than forty smart phones and twenty cameras centered on her, do they believe her when she said a police cuffed her in her chest?
