Members of the Berbice Football Association (BFA) re-elected Keith O’Jeer as association President for the next four years following an Extra Ordinary Congress on Sunday last in the Ancient County.
Also elected were Second Vice President – Randy Sears, Treasurer – Ceon Bristol, Committee Members – Ms Andrea Johnson and Michael DeSouza who replaced Kenrick Bowry.
Six of the eight association members were eligible vote at the meeting; Arsenal FC, Corriverton Links, Hopetown United Rangers FC, Monedderlust FC, Orealla Falcons FC and Rosignol United FC. The two ineligible members were Mahaicony 5th Element FC and East Bank Gunners.
The elections were conducted by Guyana Football Federation’s Lyndon France who was accompanied by Richard Groden.
According to a press release, O’Jeer remarked that the present team of executives was one of the most productive that he has had the honour to work with and expressed delight in returning to serve.
The BFA has staggered elections and the second half consisting of First Vice President – Shurwin Forde, Third Vice President – Anson Barrington, Secretary – Joseph E Simon and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Zahir Moakan will be up for elections in 2019.
O’Jeer served as President from 2011 to 2013 before resigning to serve at the level of the GFF. He returned as President (ag) in 2014 and has served in that capacity, to date.
