DEAR EDITOR,
Just in case someone may need more edification.
Net neutrality is the principle that all internet services should be delivered on an equal footing by telecoms networks. It is the idea that networks should not restrict or block certain services, or give others an advantage like higher speeds – such as websites the network owns or ones that pay it
Critics of net neutrality laws say they put too much strain on networks, discouraging investment and raising prices. They say sites like Netflix, which consume a lot of data, get an easy ride from the rules.
America’s Federal Communications Commission has voted to repeal laws passed under the Obama administration that enforce net neutrality and prevent networks from applying different standards across the web. Another face of blatant capitalism!
