The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) in partnership with Top Brandz Distributors, Corona Beer Super 16 year-end tournament kicks off tonight at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground, Linden with two matches.
Opening play will at 18:30hrs will see the hometown’s Winners Connection doing battle with the confident City side Camptown Football Club while the feature match will be a treat for football fans when two GFF Elite League teams, Milerock (Linden) and Cougars (Berbice) clash from 21:00hrs.
As the name suggests, the tournament will feature 16 teams which will be matching skills for a total of $3.75 million in cash prizes. The lucrative competition features the GFF’s ten Elite clubs along with five other association teams and an Indigenous All-Star selection.
The five association teams are Winners Connection, Pouderoyen, Police Sports Club, Camptown and Grove Hi Tech. The grand prize of $2million while the losing finalist will receive $1million, third place $500,000 and fourth $250,000.
As part of the grand finale that will be played on January 1st, 2018, Jamaican Dancehall artiste, Popcaan will perform, live.
