Dear Editor,
I wish to bring your attention a problem that I have with Guyana Power and Light (GPL). I had a business running at Lot 126 Kingston Road No.79 Village 17 years ago.
I eventually closed my business and reported to the G.P.L manager that I wanted the metre to be removed.
One week later, she sent a bus and the crew removed it. My house had a separate metre. I had no outstanding payments for GPL. I have applied for a metre at Lot 48 No.76 Housing Scheme since 2015. When I went to GPL, they claimed I owed $160,000 and they cannot give me a meter until I pay out the balance.
Mr. Editor, I need a metre for my new house, so that is why I am bringing this matter to your attention.
