This is the season of giving, thus we should try to bless those in need with a chance to enjoy their holiday also.
Pleading with the public for assistance with his very fatal and deteriorating condition is 64-year-old Bennett Snagg.
Snagg lives alone at his East La Penitence residence. He stated that he has no family members to aid him; he depends on a close friend, Omar Cooper, who helps him get by daily.
Mr Snagg is currently suffering from failing hipline and a spinal deficiency.
His condition has got so bad that his pelvic bone has slipped out and is piercing his intestine.
He underwent a number of surgeries at the Georgetown Public Hospital in his early stages but now that his condition has shifted to such an advanced stage, his only alternative is complete hip resurfacing surgery.
Because the Georgetown Public Hospital Inc. does not have the necessary equipment to complete the surgery his only other alternative is to travel to India. The doctors noted that there is a hospital there that specialise within the specific area.
The surgery will cost US$12 000 but because his recent X-trays have shown that his condition is deteriorating daily he was advised by the doctors to have an additional three thousand dollars ($3000 USD).
He added that some expenses were not covered under the cost of the surgery such as his the cost of travel to and from India and for his maintenance and accommodation during his stay.
The hospital will only be accommodating him for five days after the completion of his surgery and with his operation he is required a month’s rest
The government of Guyana has heard his cry and has donated US$5000.
He is pleading for the general public’s assistance to help him raise the remainder. He has approached several business places and is still awaiting their responses.
He is asking that persons with donations please contact him on his telephone numbers
Cell-672-7148;- 225-7866; Or Mr. Omar Cooper at – 688-6615
His surgery is urgently needed as his condition worsens daily.
