Captain Omari Glasgow netted a hat-trick and crafted a solid 7-0 win for BV Triumph United against Plaisance Panthers when play in the East Demerara FA leg of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17
Intra Association League continued on Sunday last at the Golden Grove ground, East Coast Demerara.
Glasgow found able support from Thrice Dennis who tucked in a double, Samuel Garnett and Shaquan Harris with one apiece as the BV boys tamed the Panthers.
From the opening minute it was clear that BV, now third in the points table with their ninth win in 14 matches, were in to make it a torrid day for Plaisance and that they did for the entire 90 minutes of combat.
Dennis opened the scoring in the first minute of the match and completed his brace in the 27th minute. Glasgow took matters into his own hands with goals in the 15th, 29th and 65th minute to add further pressure on the Panthers which were not allowed to penetrate the BV final third.
Garnett tucked in his goal in the 40th minute. Meanwhile, two walk overs were recorded on the day; Ann’s Grove United pocketed full points since their opponent, Bachelors Adventure Paradise Sports Club did not show up, while Buxton Stars also took full points without expending any energy.
Their opponent, Mahaica Determinators, were not able to show up as a result of a vehicular accident which involved the team.
Six matches would be contested on Friday and Sunday respectively with triple headers on both days at the same venue.
On Friday from 11:00hrs, BA/Paradise will take on Plaisance Panthers to be followed by a clash between Golden Stars and Ann’s Grove United from 13:00hrs, the main attraction pits Buxton Stars against fellow village team, Buxton United from 15:00hrs.
On Sunday, Buxton United will open against Ann’s Grove from 11:00hrs, Plaisance Panthers tackle Buxton Stars from 13:00hrs to be followed by Golden Stars against Mahaica Determinators.
