Dear Editor,
Some of us attend PLAY SCHOOL for 1-2 years, THEN to nursery school for 2 YEARS. We graduate and attend to PRIMARY SCHOOL for 6 years (We sit different examinations (MID TERM, END OF TERM, GRADES TWO, FOUR AND SIX ASSESSMENTS) THEN our parents look for a great secondary school for us. Some attend PRIVATE and some attend PUBLIC Institutions. Whereas some of us have to go in transformation class, some of us go to form one.
We attend secondary school for 5-6 years, we sit the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC). Our parents and teachers work really hard with us to achieve good grades and receive great awards in the end.
However, some of us have great plans to further their studies at PROFESSIONAL places, because their parents have enough funds to help them, while some of us have to stay home (until our parents get funds for us to further our studies and achieve great thing in life).
With the grades that have been achieved in high school, we try and apply for jobs (so that we can earn some cash to help our parents to pay for our studies). We understand that businesses need persons with EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS so the business can keep flowing. The only business that doesn’t need anyone with experience is business with low reputation so how can we go and get a next to nothing job when you have a lot of education?
But if businesses don’t give us a shot at employment, how can we get experience to do the jobs?
