Dear Editor,
There is a circle of corruption which seems to be the order of the day at the Regional Democratic Council of Region 10 and it seems like the hit squad is becoming more relentless in pursuit of dollars.
One would think that a council under the leadership of a “Pastor” would be led with righteousness and corruption would be the number one enemy.
It is however quite the opposite and is undoubtedly the best friend of the council in a relationship which is growing stronger day by day, budget by budget, procurement by procurement, contracts by contracts.
Pastors should know that the Bible says “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” They are to have “no part” or take no part in it, meaning not even a little, or tiny part.
Having “no part” means avoiding the “works of darkness” altogether, and that means avoiding those who do them.
In fact, we’re told to expose them, because whoever breaks man’s laws, also breaks God’s laws, and if you break God’s laws, in time, they’ll break you (and me) too. But I’m not sure if several of the leaders who are active in the church read the scripture well or if they selectively do so for Sunday’s purpose. These people are giving Christianity a bad name.
The Pastor is the head of the Hit Squad that targets the regional coffers and he has been chair of the procurement body which is only seeing Pastors as suitable contractors for the big money contracts in the region.
Just see the list of contractors on file qualified for works in the region as set out by the Hit Squad. The councillors who oppose this circle get castigated and ridiculed even by “Mori” who claimed he is the Boss of the town when there is a sitting Mayor.
I sat in meetings upon meeting with this man and all he does is fight for power and control. He dabbles from ridiculing the President and Ministers of the government stating he got better access to PPP executives, to instructing the EO to award contracts to selective persons.
This circle includes a known drug lord in Linden who was recently the cause of several persons losing their space at LEN and now it seems like Mori and Samo in the man pocket and pushing the RDC to give the man contract for garbage collection.
We opposed it at the council but how impacting that can be when you are not part of the squad. Now I understand that the “Lard” is now wreaking havoc over the other side at the town council and wants to wash his dirty laundry with a garbage contract.
The PNC needs to look at its chosen representatives, the people of Linden need to know what’s going on, the church needs to be aware of the culprits, the government needs to know that the budget which it passed for Linden is not felt by the community due to the circle of corruption and finally the people must know what goes on at the RDC.
Let’s Break the Circle of Corruption.
Sincerely,
Regional Councillor
