Up to press time, a 41-year-old man, who is deaf-mute, was undergoing surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after being allegedly stabbed to the neck by an ex-con.
David Nelson was attacked around 13:00 hrs yesterday on the Beterverwagting Line top, East Coast Demerara.
His mother, Brenda Nelson said that she was at home when one of her sons called to inform her that his sibling had been attacked and was at the Beterverwagting Health Centre. It was from there he was transferred to the GPHC.
“I don’t know what happened. I just hear that he get stabbed and he was taken to GPHC,” the woman said. No one has been arrested as yet.
