Dear Editor,
Why does the late President Burnham’s ‘performance’ while in power seem to surprise, puzzle or disappoint so many people, that it is still talked about? I knew what would happen if he gained presidential power.
During the street demonstrations and voiced threats in the lead up to the general elections, I happened to be visiting a friend who lived close to Princes Street, where demonstrations were a daily feature.
I told my husband and, having been threatened for not “becoming involved”, we decided to re-locate.
