Dear Editor,
Reading the newspapers, I came across an article whereby a person at a wake house was beaten by four men.
When he went to the police station he was arrested and placed in the lock-ups, although he pleaded with the police that he wasn’t feeling well and needed to see a doctor. The four others were given medical forms to see a doctor, one of which is the son of a wealthy sawmill owner.
It was until the day after the person in the lock-ups started getting hysterical and another inmate started banging the walls that is when the police decided to take him to the hospital in shackles where he later died.
Well sir, I think that the police should be charged for manslaughter and also betrayal of their oath of office, which has a certain part that states “without favour or affection”. They actually caused the death of that young man. Had they done their job diligently and professionally it would be a different matter.
In another matter the Head of the SWAT lost his gun and 16 rounds. Is he aware 1 round is equal to a life? That is gross stupidity. In another matter a Senior Officer is responsible for the disappearance of several kilos of cocaine. What is really going on in our small and beautiful country?
The hideous thing about this case is that he was just transferred. That is not good enough; remember these people were selected to uphold the law with an oath of office and when they do such things it make them worst that the actual criminals and they should be dealt with the full arms of the law.
