Dear editor,
When the koker doors are left open and parts of the city flood, leaving millions of dollars in damage.Who is be blamed? Not the City Engineer for failing to put proper systems in place nor the Town Clerk for failing to pay the koker Attendant his salaries on time. It is the koker Attendant who is fired for neglect of duty.
When City Hall spends out the citizens’ money going on fancy overseas trips, renting toilets for $90,000 per month and purchasing luxury vehicles and cannot pay their employees their salaries, who is be blamed? Not the Mayor, nor the Town Clerk for squandermania; it’s the citizens who are blamed for being dilatory in paying up their taxes.
When City Hall racks up a debt of over three hundred million dollars to their contractors who are forced to stop working and the city becomes a garbage city again, who is blamed? The citizens are blamed for littering. When the Town Clerk goes off with the other members of the Fantastic Four and signs the illegal, repugnant and corrupt parking meter deal, who is blamed? Ifa Kamau Cush said it is the citizens to be blamed because they are not progressives, they are freeloaders; they lack the intestinal fortitude to control their own destiny. And that they all possess the mentality of slaves, indentured servants, incapable of generating wealth and building capacity.
And when a Lance Corporal of the City Constabulary is allowed to commit statutory rape, not once but at least twice who is blamed? The Town Clerk? The Chief Constable? Of course not! It was the Corporal who blew the whistle that is blamed, because he did not grab the station diary and make an entry of what he witnessed and because he did not rush in and pull them apart. Madam Mayor, it’s time to care; it’s time to take responsibility; it’s time to lead; it’s time for a change; it’s time to be true to our greatest self; it’s time to stop blaming others.
