A father of three was granted $250,000 bail on Wednesday after he appeared in the Georgetown
Magistrates’ Courts to answer to a simple larceny charge.
Thirty-eight-year-old Jermaine Devine, of Lot 78 Broad Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate, Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that between September 16 and September 18, last, while being in the company of others, he broke and entered the First Class Auto Sales and Spares and stole 10 Premio car lights valued $400,000; eight Allion car lights valued $320,000 and other articles. Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne did not disclose any facts on the matter and had no objection to bail being granted to the defendant. Magistrate Daly then ordered the defendant to post bail in the sum of $250,000.
Before the same magistrate, a taxi driver was placed on $100,000 bail after he also denied a simple larceny charge.
Forty-year-old Alister Norton, of East La Penitence, Squatting Area, denied the charged which read that on September 14, last, at Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, he stole a handbag containing a quantity of articles, property of Francis Paris.
