Dear Editor,
With reference to a publication by Lloyd H. Marshall dated September 24, 2017, with heading: “The Truth About Ghana”. I hereby would like to bring to your attention about misinformation contained in the article with the afore-mentioned details. The last-but-one paragraph suggests that the first satellite was launched by Ghana Space Science and Technology; this piece of information is false and misleading. I hereby present accurate information about the satellite (CubeSat) launched in June, 2017
The satellite (CubeSat) was funded and built by All Nations University College Space Science and Technology Laboratory; and not Ghana Space Science and Technology as claimed by the writer. Hence, I take this opportunity to underscore some hallmarks of All Nations University College to you. Not only are we the first University to launch a (CubeSat) satellite in Ghana; it was launched from the Kennedy Space Center into the International Space Station (ISS) on June 3rd, 2017.
We are also the first Private University to establish Biomedical Engineering to train and equip graduates with the application of technological know-how in enhancing healthcare delivery in Ghana and Africa as a whole; we are also the first to mount Electronics and Communications Engineering and Oil and Gas Engineering. In a decade and half, All Nations University College has contributed immensely to the development of Ghana and Africa by injecting innovation and quality into higher education. The University College has attracted students from 22 African Nations.
ANUC is ready to introduce other innovative programmes that will directly boost the economy with critical skill set necessary to promote investments and increase productivity. We will continue to be dedicated to producing quality graduates to take the Continent of Africa from the low level of productivity to a level where it can pride itself as being a Continent rich in both human and natural resources. On behalf of All Nations University, I earnestly demand that the misleading information must be corrected and re-published and given the same prominence and attention. Should your outfit need more insight or information about All Nations University College, do visit our website www.anuc.edu.gh. Meanwhile, this request shall be monitored.
Dr. Theophilus Oware
Senior Assistant Registrar Advancement and Technology
All Nations University College.
