City players are breathing sigh of relief following the re-start of competitive play in the Georgetown Football Association leg of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 Intra Association League on Saturday last at the Tucville, ground.
Like many of the other associations, the GFA would have been affected by the prolonged rainy season and is now up and about with competitive play once again.
Getting into the winning act from the re-start were Fruta Conquerors, Eastveldt and Pele as they all showed little signs of ring rust in claiming full points in their respective matches.
Conquerors blanked Camptown 3-0, Eastveldt made light work of Georgetown Football Club 3-1, while Pele needled Santos.
Gerald Barker netted a double for Conquerors in the 10th and 44th minute with the other coming from Nicholas Mc Arthur in the 47th minute.
Eastveldt’s win was orchestrated by Travis Hercules’ brace of goals which came in the 13th and 30th minute, Shamar Bobb accounting for the other in the 37th minute.
GFC’s consolation goal was converted by Rondel Peters in the 43rd minute.
And Pele’s lone and winning strike came off the boot of Dorwin George on 20 minutes.
More matches are scheduled for this Saturday at the same venue.
