Qualis Winter to head KCC
Former Guyana Senior Cricket Team Coach Albert Smith-Clements was elected to serve as the new President of the Guymine Community Cricket Club (GCCC) at its Annual General Meeting held at the Overwinning Primary School on August 16, last.
A total of 32 members were present and discussed the required aims and goals of the club. Also discussed were measures that would be put in place to reignite activities within the community. A motion was proposed to elect an executive body and committee. The new executive members were elected unanimously by show of raised hands.
The Executive Body reads: President (Albert Smith-Clements), First Vice President (Malcolm Peters), Second Vice President (Ronald Mars), Secretary (Angela Haniff), Treasurer (Moses Jaipaul), Public Relations Officer (Luke Latiff), Patron (Lennox Cush), Returning Officer (Ulric Cummings).
The seven committee members are Bridgesh Jaipaul, Charles Shepherd, Desmond Weeks, Ashley Jones, Takerdeen, Nigel Vyphius and Seon Profit.
Meanwhile, the Kildonan Cricket Club (KCC) also had its first AGM which was held at the Kildonan Community Centre on July 23.
The elected members to serve are as follows: President (Qualis Winter), Vice President (Carlos Leitch), Secretary (Colin Bynoe), Treasurer (Quaicy Henry). The President and Secretary of both the GCCC and KCC will be its representative to the Berbice Cricket Board.
