Two men, both from Laing Avenue, were yesterday ordered to post $100,000 bail each, after pleading not guilty to a simple larceny charge.
David George, 18, and Seon Nedd, 27, of 199 Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It is alleged that on August 15 at Lot 65 East Ruimveldt, they stole from motor car PSS 5322, one engine valued $150,000, four car shocks valued $40,000 and one air conditioner valued $60,000 – all property of Jermaine Davidson.
Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves had no objection to bail being granted to the duo.
However the prosecutor told the court that on the day in question the victim drove his vehicle and parked it at home, with the articles mentioned in the charge – after it was involved in an accident.
The court heard that on August 16, Davidson a check on his vehicle and observed the items missing.
The matter was reported and the two men were arrested and taken to the station.
Prosecutor Gonsalves told the court that Nedd took the police to his home and handed over the engine, the air conditioner and one of the shocks.
The two men will make their next court appearance on September 15.
