Dear Editor,
Many years ago, I mentioned to other important sources how vulnerable our poor country was to being “hoodwinked” by other nations, particularly powerful ones.
So as not to offend certain sensibilities, I cannot say on what I based my deductions. But this will be ongoing for poor Guyana for years to come. May powers from on high protect our country and its people!
Unfortunately, so many of our elderly financially-capable contacts in the UK were willing at one stage to return to contribute to its progress, but on hearing of the experiences of people like myself, they decided against it.
They have never regretted that decision. May we survive! Give youngsters decent values and something to strive for.
