Dear Editor,
Hope this letter can give the result and satisfaction we’ve been seeking for some time now. In front of our residence situated at 126 Half Mile, Wismar, Linden there’s a rotting pole belonging to the GTT which can be GTT’s because that company wires are the only wires on that pole and because of that fact no other company can interfere. The pole looks like it is actually on stilettos and a slight jab can cause it to collapse and if so damage will be done to the house.
Numerous telephone calls explaining the situation have been made since May 2016 and nothing has been done. The first call was made when it became obvious that the bottom of the pole looked like it was actually just dried moss. This was explained and it was told that the complaint will be placed on file to be looked into soon as possible. After waiting for a respectable period of time another call was made and given a replay like the conversation before. After both of the calls, a serviceman came to the residence asking about telephone line and both times it was explained that the complaint was about the rotting pole not a malfunctioning line.
I continued making calls and asked one day to speak to the person in charge of the Linden Office. In this conversation, I was actually told the individual I was speaking to wasn’t the person to take care of that problem but would put the complaint on file; it even gave me cause to wonder who really is in charge of the management of the Linden Office. After it became obvious and was also told to me that telephone calls to that office were useless, I decided to visit to produce evidence of what I was complaining about with pictures that were taken on my phone. Once again I was told it would be placed on file and looked into.
I thought to myself maybe I should start a business selling stationery especially folders and file papers because GTT sure uses them a lot. The waiting continued until I got fed up and placed another call. This time I was lucky enough to speak with an individual who stated that he was the right person to talk with and that everything will be done to ensure safety and to my satisfaction. I haven’t been satisfied.
I received a call at about 7 am or a little after where I was informed two guys were on their way from Georgetown and they needed directions. I asked the question; “why they don’t go into the Linden Office and get someone who knows the area.” The response was that it was too early so directions were given and from their responses it was understood they knew where to come. My guess is they were coming from Georgetown in some foreign country and they’re coming on bicycles. I got tired of the Linden office. I tried Georgetown office and the same annoying repeating was give “put on file” but I kept calling hoping for a difference.
I saw some workers doing work by a neighbour. I explained the situation again and asked for some assistance with a name of the person that can definitely help. I was informed to contact a certain official. I called the head office assuming this person works there but was informed he works in Linden and was given a number to make contact which kept ringing out on each and every call I placed. I later recalled that this same number was given to me before but with the same result.
If that pole should fall and cause damages or even injuries is GTT going to tell me I will be compensated. This company cannot compensate me for important documents or a life because if that pole falls it is going to land on an electrical wire that is attached to the house and we don’t have to be scientists to know what the result are going to be. GTT must come and remove your pole in front of my property because it is yours not mine.
