Forty-one-year-old Devon Rodney of Lot 177 James Street, Albouystown, yesterday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to answer a break and enter charge.
he denied the charge which alleged that on July 27 at Robb Street, Georgetown, he broke and enterED the building of Bridgepaul Nauth and stole one water pump valued $120,000, one toilet set valued $40,000, one face sink valued 50,000, a kitchen sink valued $30,000, a fan valued $54,000, one door valued $50,000 and one air conditioner valued $200,000.
Police Prosecutor Arvin Moore had no objection to bail being granted to Rodney but asked that conditions be attached.
The Prosecutor told the court that on the day in question Nauth secured his business and went home. He received a call informing him that someone had broken into his business.
The court heard that when a party of policemen arrived at the location they saw the defendant at the premises. He was then arrested and charged for the offence.
Chief Magistrate granted bail to the defendant in the sum of $10,000.
Condition of the bail is that he must report to the Alberttown Police Station every Friday until the completion of the trial.
The defendant will make his next court appearance on August 16.
