“I stab a man in Sophia and I think he is dead…”
That’s what a woman claims her reputed husband told her recently.
Detectives hope that this chilling disclosure has finally led them to the individual who killed former serviceman Trevor Dublin in ‘E’ Field, Sophia, last month.
The woman’s reputed husband is being questioned by ranks from the police Major Crimes Unit. Kaieteur News understands that his reputed wife alleged that her spouse had come home with a bloodstained shirt. On being questioned, he allegedly confided that he had stabbed a man in Sophia, and feared that the victim had succumbed.
But another woman, who is reportedly the suspect’s girlfriend, alleged that he had claimed that his shirt got bloodstained during a fight with his reputed wife.
Kaieteur News understands that the suspect has refuted both allegations.
On June 24, last, ranks of a mobile patrol found Trevor Dublin, 49, of 385 ‘C’ Field Sophia, lying in a pool of blood on a roadway in ‘E’ Field, Sophia.
The victim bore a single stab wound to the left side chest, and a knife and a toque were found nearby. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died shortly after.
Police had received information that Dublin was stabbed during an altercation with two men.
Dublin was a serviceman employed with BK International.
