overall winner trophy.
Yesterday at their Bourda Street location, Manager Ms. Devi Sunich handed over the trophy to Manager of Fitness Paradise Gym, Donald Sinclair in the presence of one of the Miss Gym Expo Personality competitors, Ms Angelica Holder.
Sunich expressed delight at being able to once again contribute to the event and wished each participant success. Sinclair in response thanked Sunich and Trophy Stall for their continued commitment to athletes’ development.
Meanwhile, this year’s Fitness Paradise Gym Expo is an event with a difference. Different from the traditional format of the ladies’ events, the ladies segment is in 2 stages. Stage One had an intelligence test, a cardio and an endurance challenge and that was completed on Sunday July 2 at Fitness Paradise Gym.
The ladies did a written test then challenged themselves in skipping, abdominal crunches and pushups. This Sunday, July 23 at the Theatre Guild Playhouse in Kingston from 19:00hrs, the 5 ladies will do the Part Two – an Interview plus the Miss Expo Best Legs to determine the Overall Miss Gym Expo Personality winner.
According to Sinclair, the idea is that the event must produce ladies who are in great shape and who can also be ambassadors of the sport, able to speak intelligently about their training experiences.
A separate event is the Miss Bikini that will also see five (5) females participating. The males will compete in the Mr. Expo Hot Body and the Mr. Expo Bodybuilding Classic.
Ms Holder, who will be making her debut on stage, expressed confidence in doing well, “I will give a good fight.” She posited.
