A father of three was granted $150,000 bail following an accusation that he stole an excavator computer box from Aurora Gold Mining Company Incorporation.
Vibert Wishart, 30, a driver, of Lot 139 Thomas Street, Kitty, Georgetown denied the charge which alleged that between June 27 and June 29 at Buck Hall trail, Essequibo, he stole the item valued at $632,000.
An attorney-at-Law for the defendant requested that his client be released on reasonable bail. The lawyer said that his client will return to court to vindicate his name.
Police Prosecutor Arvin Moore made no objections to bail. He however asked that it be set in a substantial amount. The prosecutor told the court that police intercepted Wishart as he was about to sell the item in Georgetown.
Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan instructed the defendant to make another court appearance on August 10 at the Bartica Magistrates Court.
