Vikash Panday presents the sponsorship cheque to GLTA President Jamal Goodluck in the presence of GLTA Vice President Grace McCalman and P&P staff members.
The Guyana Tennis Association is preparing to host its 13th P&P Insurance Brokers Junior Tennis Camp starting today. Children between the ages of 6-11 will be trained at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall from 9:00am, while those between the ages of 12-18 will be trained at the National Racquet Centre at Camp and Woolford Avenue from 12:00noon. The camp is the most significant annual junior development event after the end of the school year and it usually attracts at least 50 young children who enjoy learning the rudimentary principles of playing tennis in a fun and creative environment.
The camp provides a potent avenue for the introduction of many new players to clubs for further training.
Vikash Panday, son of Mr. Bish Panday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of P&P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited, represented the company in yet another of their outstanding contributions to the development of sport in general. He pledged their support for the 13th year in succession, urging all participants to give their best efforts and continue to persevere towards success. He pointed out the committed effort of longest standing executive member, Grace McCalman, from the inception of the camp supporting the administration of local tennis in all its forms and also recounted playing doubles with his sister Varsha Panday and former national coach Debbie Bunbury. He pledged continuous support for local tennis on behalf of his father and the P&P Insurance Brokers.
President of the GLTA, Jamal Goodluck, reiterated his appreciation for corporate support for local tennis to reach its pinnacle. This is what keeps tennis alive as there is limited support otherwise that hinders rapid progress.
The camp will be conducted by Coaches Shelly Daly, Leyland Leacock and Assistant Coaches from the National Junior Team Daniel Lopes, Jordan Beaton, Kalyca Fraser who have all initially benefitted from the P&P Tennis Camps in their early tennis career. The camp runs from Today, Monday July 17th to Friday August 4th on weekdays only. Players can register by calling 645-2901.
