Dear Editor,
In January, 2017 the media carried banner headlines announcing “LAW SCHOOL FINALLY” when they carried a story that Attorney General Williams had negotiated with a private Jamaican university to establish a Law School in Guyana. The School will cater for those who cannot be admitted into the Hugh Wooding Law School.
Hugh Wooding is the only recognized Law School in the Caribbean and graduates of the “LAW SCHOOL FINALLY” would not be recognized to practice. It would be just like doing Law at the School of Nations University which I believe works with the University of London. Half-a-year has passed and we have not heard another word from Mr. Williams. UG students are now wondering if Williams has hoodwinked them. Would Mr Williams now urgently make a statement clarifying the situation?
