Ransford Goodluck bythe closest of margins emerged winner of the Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA) June Spoon Shoot competition which was held at the Timehri Rifle and Pistol Ranges recently.
Goodluck’s score of 115.6v edged Lennox Braithwaite who shot 114.13v by just one point. Goodluck’s consistency paid off as he had dropped three points after the 300yards range and one point each at 600 and 1000 yards.
Braithwaite however did not drop any points after the first two ranges, having shot a possible each at the 300 and 600 yards; 50.7v and 35.6v, respectively. The 1000 yards once more continues to challenge Braithwaite as he managed just 29.0.
The consistent Sherwin Filicien was also tied with Braithwaite on 114 points but had three less Vs. Vice-Captain Dylan Fields was closely behind with the tight grouping with a score of 113.11v.
This Sunday the rifle shooters will return to the ranges to once more battle the conditions as the marksmen continue preparations towards the upcoming 150th anniversary of the GuyanaNRA and eth West Indies Fullbore Shooting Championships in October here.
