Dear Editor,
With an inexplicable degree of frustration, we the residents of Providence Housing Scheme Phase 3, would like the relevant authorities to consider our plight. After over 10 years of application, we were fortunate to be granted a plot of land at Providence Housing Scheme Phase 3.
Many of us took out mortgages from lending institutions to build a home where we intended to start our families, while others spent their entire life savings with the intentions to retire. Our homes have been completed, while many are in construction; however, our daily lives have been crippled with a lack of proper water supply.
We have made several calls to GWI, who claim that the infrastructure is in place, but they are awaiting authorization from CH&PA to supply water to the residents. CH&PA, however, claims that the responsibility lies with GWI.
After 3 years of back and forth between these two organizations (along with our monthly mortgage payments) we live on rainwater and continue with this burden. We are asking the Honorable Minster Valerie Patterson, a Minister of the people to look into our concerns, and please help us so that we can receive water in our homes.
