Dear Editor,
During the past week, the Minister of Natural Resources said that there will be steps taken with the operations of sand pits. And whilst listening to the newscast, I was really disappointed with the manner in which the Minister explained the reason for taking these steps. Looking at their actions immediately after taking over leadership of Guyana, I immediately came to the conclusion that we were greatly mislead and many of us will regret our actions.
Today walking around and listening to the cries of people I couldn’t help but feel somewhat disgusted because they are still on the path of creating hardship for Guyanese, destroying their image while continuing to feel their way around aimlessly. Editor, whilst listening to the Minister, my opinion is that the way he elaborated on the hours when a sand truck goes to the sand pit to collect sand, he seems to be implying that they are going at those hours to steal the sand or escape paying some sort of fee. The truth is that the sand truck people are trying their best to help ease the traffic congestion we experience and that hour is best suited for them. It is bad enough they are pressuring us, but they should have some sort of decency to avoid staining other people for their visionless acts.
