Police have issued a wanted bulletin for Ezekiel Edwards called ‘Kezie’, in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Roy Rowland, whose body, with gunshot wounds, was found on May 17, last, at Marigold Street, Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown.
A bulletin issued yesterday gave the suspect’s date of birth as March 28, 1990 and his last known address as Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Ezekiel Edward called ‘Kezie’ is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 227-2128, 226-1389, 226-7065, 268-2343, 268-2298, 225-2227, 911 or the nearest police station.
Rowland, called ‘Gangster Boy,’ had returned from French Guiana just two weeks before he was shot to the head and his body dumped. His execution is believed to be linked to a drug deal in Cayenne.
A police official confirmed that a popular drug dealer has been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
Rowland, a father of two, with one child on the way, was said to be a fisherman in neighbouring Suriname. However, police suspect that during their trips out to sea, Rowland and his crew members might have gotten involved in other activities.
The police said that a 9mm spent shell was found at the scene where Rowland’s body was discovered. It is suspected that the victim was slain elsewhere and dumped in Roxanne Burnham, since no one in the area heard any gunshots.
