The Linden hospital complex was yesterday presented with medical supplies and
equipment from Food For the Poor (FFTP). The donation will help to boost the services rendered at the facility.
Making the presentation on behalf of FFTP was Public Relations Officer Wayne Hamilton.
Hamilton said that the presentation was one of many made to the facility over the years. In the past the hospital would have sent a vehicle to uplift the supplies. This time around FFTP had seen it fit to deliver.
Hamilton pointed out that yesterday’s presentation was the first of two to be delivered to the institution this time around.
“On behalf of FFTP I’m very pleased to be handing over this huge donation of medical supplies to the Linden Hospital complex. Over the years,FFTP has contributed significantly to this hospital . We are particularly pleased with the manner with which the hospital has been administrating the stuff that has been delivered to them.”
Hamilton said that being cognizant of the fact that a healthy nation is a productive one and recognizing that the hospitals and health centres around the country were in need of supplies, FFTP had pledged to assist these institutions as much as possible with items that will help to sustain them.
He promised that the organization will continue to make more donations as soon as these become available.
Chief Executive Officer of the Linden Hospital complex, Dr Farouk Riyasat , said that the supplies were essential and that the items would be divided and shared with other hospitals and health centres in Region Ten.
“This morning we are in receipt of millions of dollars in medical supplies and equipment from FFTP. This is not the first time that we have been receiving supplies from this organization.”Riyasat noted.
He said that the donation was a timely one that was most welcomed.
Some of the supplies donated included respirators, emergency trolleys, pediatric beds and focus lights among other items.
