A 13-year-old boy from New Amsterdam is currently in police custody after reports surfaced of a rape which he allegedly committed against his 10-year-old male neighbour between May 12 and May 14, last.
According to a source close to the investigation, the act was reportedly committed at the home of the alleged perpetrator.
It was disclosed that the younger boy resides with his 58-year-old father, a taxi driver. The father who usually works the night shift would leave his son at his neighbour’s home (where the teen resides) to rest for the night, until he returns the next day to pick him up.
However, during the dates mentioned the taxi driver left his son with the suspect’s mother, a security guard, over the weekend. The incident allegedly took place when the woman left for work leaving her son alone with the ten year old.
However on May 15, the 10-year-old related what transpired to his father who immediately called in the police. The boy was then taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was examined by a doctor who confirmed that he had been penetrated. The teen was subsequently arrested.
Investigations are ongoing.
