Orin Glasgow, who is wanted by police for robbery under-arms, has been jailed for five years in his absence. He was found guilty yesterday by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan of robbing a woman at gun-point.
On December 30, 2016 while armed with a gun at Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara, Orin Glasgow robbed Felicia Gilchan of two Samsung cell phones, a quantity of clothing; $130,000 in cash and a hand bag.
The court was told that the victim, who operates a store, was held at gunpoint by Glasgow and relieved of the articles mentioned in the charge.
During her ruling, the Chief Magistrate told the court that after a revision of the evidence led by the prosecution, there was sufficient evidence against Glasgow for him to be found guilty of the offence.
The convict did not get to tell his side of the story since he was absent from court. Based on reports, the convict was previously charged and remanded to prison for robbery under-arms and possession of unlicensed firearms.
Last June, Glasgow of Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara and another man were brought before the court for allegedly robbing a woman of cash and a quantity of items. They were also accused of robbing Sheik Imran of a .32 Taurus revolver and six live matching rounds.
Further, the duo were accused of attempting to rob a man and being in possession of an unlicensed .32 revolver and six .32 rounds of ammunition.
