Trophy Stall won the male and female softball titles when Boyce and Jefford held their relay festival and family fund day on Sunday at the Police Sports Club, Eve Leary.
Trophy Stall defeated the Boyce and Jefford All Stars by 38 runs in the male category. Watched by a large crowd, Trophy Stall batted first and posted 99-3 off their allotted 10 overs. Nandram Samall led with 24, while Lloyd Rooplall made 22, Wayne Jones 21, Sherwin Murray 16 and Clyde Canterbury 10. Lyndon Wilson, who conceded 24 runs off two overs, picked up all three wickets to fall.
Opener Christopher Barnwell hit the first ball of the innings off Lalta Gainda for six but after he was brilliant caught by Murray off Reyaz Husein on the long-on boundary for 10, the rest off batting faltered. Only Mark Scott of the remaining batsmen managed double figures with 17 as Boyce and Jefford All Stars finished on 61-7. Husein, Jones, Canterbury, Gainda, Ramchand Ragbeer and Jailall Deodass claimed one wicket each in a disciplined bowling display.
Murray was named man-of-the-match, while both teams collected trophies.
Trophy Stall Angels then registered a 33-run win over Mike’s Wellwoman. Batting first, Trophy Stall Angels posted 76-5 in 10 overs with June Ogle scoring 32.
