The curtains came down on Annual Senior Citizens Bocce Tournament on April 29, 2017 at the national Gymnasium. Four teams competed in the tournament namely Sun Flower, Butter Cup, Hibiscus and Rose. Team captains were Mary Ali Mohamed, Martie Hinds, Olga Hunte and Fay Simpson respectively.
Team names were drawn and in the preliminary rounds saw Rose vs Sun Flower and Hibiscus vs Buttercup.
In the first game after playing 16 frames in 2h 9mins, Rose won from Sun Flower 16 points to 13. In the second game after playing 12 frames in 2h 3mins, Butter Cup won from Hibiscus 18 games to 13. The two winning teams in the preliminary round Rose and Buttercup played in the final. The victorious team was determined after 2h 11mins and with 8 frames of play Rose beat Buttercup 17 points to 5.
Sports Organiser presented medals, gold and silver to the winning team and runner up.
This tournament was sponsored by the National Sports Commission and organized by Mr. Wilton Spencer, Sports Organiser.
