Dear Editor,
When the opposition was in power, Freddie took the fists of chastisment and executed flawlessly to relentlessly unleash on a list of misfits and corrupted cabals for their intellect levels accompanied by their incompetencies. They weren’t running for shelter, but running from being criticized over and over again. So they would make conscious efforts to clean up, shape up or shut up. They would all pick up KN and read and seek advice and direction from the KN, even though it may not be the most appropriate, but they sought it anyway.
Today what we have is another set of dictators and CZARS, who have no fear, who can’t accept change or criticism but are willing to accept the fat salaries they gave themselves. The very ones who criticised the previous rulers for doing the same. We aren’t stupid, are we? They have no idea how to bring change because they themselves don’t know. That’s the group of people who we all selected to run our beloved Guyana because they promised us. Freddie put it well, “…it’s heading right into the Atlantic and we aren’t too far from it anyway.”
Look at the baby boomers and the traditionalists that we are forced to adhere to, not because of our choice, but because they have power of authority. We have no say. The leader has chosen them. Look at all the leaders of the major western nations – young, energetic, charismatic, dynamic and proactive with a deep vision. What do we have? “Ole” semi blind, no vision, very reactive and with a group of misfits. Steve Jobs put it well; “If you are not being criticised is because you are doing nothing.” Be prepared for it. It comes with a price and that is what it takes to be a leader. Look after the people on the left of you and the right of you. That’s who a leader is.
