An investigation has been launched into the alleged rape of two children, age 14 years and 15 years, by a male.
Commander of B Division, Ian Amsterdam, stated that a report was made to the police and the accused was questioned. Amsterdam further revealed that the accused has since been released on bail, as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, a source close to the investigation disclosed that the accused, who reportedly teaches at a private school in Berbice and is the son of a Regional councilor, visited the home of the children, who are school dropouts and offered them groceries. It was also revealed that during last week he offered to take the teens on an outing. It is then that he allegedly committed the act. The youths were reportedly forced to perform oral sex on the man.
The incident came to light when the two teens related to their parents what had occurred after returning home from the ‘outing’ and a report was subsequently made.
