Body found tied to tree, with stab wound

Police in Berbice are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified Individual whose body was found tied to a tree at Onverwagt Village, Corentyne Berbice.
It also bore a suspected stab wound.
Divisional Commander, Ian Amsterdam, confirmed that the badly decomposed body was discovered yesterday afternoon. “We are trying to determine who the individual is, but we can only do so when a post mortem examination is done.
“Information is still a bit sketchy but we are trying to get the details.
He was found bound to a tree and with what appeared to be a stab wound”.  According to Amsterdam the body seems over a week old and due to the state of decomposition it is in, it is difficult to determine the race of the individual.
