Dear Editor,
Reference is hereby made to the above caption as it relates to the publication of an article captioned “765 cases of child abuse reported to CPA” KN: 09. 04. 17.
Editor, while it’s commendable that the article’s publication could have seen the “light of the day” What remains ironic if not pathetic however, is the high incidences of abuse committed by mothers, which represents the largest amount of the cases reported.
But this is not to say abuses of a sexual nature, moreover, involving both boys and girls must be overlooked. In the final analysis, the CPA, with its “lukewarm” and sympathetic approach to mothers enables them to create liars out of children, at the expense of destroying responsible fatherhood.
This creates a dangerous precedent, denounces fatherhood, violates our constitution, with the infusion of an American emblem; “Kids, Mothers Pets and Fathers” Interestingly, with Guyana being a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Should fathers suffer at the behest of our judiciary?
