The organisers, coordinator and organising committee of the recently held Guyana Cup Fever horserace meet is expressing heartfelt thanks to all who contributed in one way or the other in making their one day horserace meet a success. The event was held on Sunday April 16th at the Port Mourant Turf Club, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.
The members of the management Committee would like to say a big thank you to the Government of Guyana, Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited, Jumbo Jet Truck and Auto Sales and Racing Stables, Vault Night Club, Ramesh Sunich of Trophy Stall, Shariff Racing Stable, Rising Sun Racing Stable, Port Mourant Turf Club, Ramchand Auto Spares, Curtain and Drapes Design and the Thunderbolt Sounds system.
The organisers also take the opportunity to apologize for any infractions that would have occurred during the day.
The committee will also like to say special thanks to Commander B Division Assistant Commissioner Ian Amsterdam and ranks of the Guyana police force for their support and look for their continued patronage for the next race meet.
In the meanwhile, the Shariff Stable was adjudged the top stable on the day with two wins and two seconds from five starts.
Zahir Shariff was adjudged the top trainer on show for the day for his stables exploits. Jockeys Randolph Richmond and Rad Drepaul were joint Champion jockeys with one win, one second and one third apiece. Golden Blue was the top horse for winning the feature C2 and lower event and placing second in the E and lower event.
